Endless

Endless magazine

For online travel addicts, Endless might be a familiar name. The blog is available as a printed magazine from now on. I’ve ordered mine online today, for only € 18 the magazine will be in my mailbox early next week. I can’t wait for a new international travel magazine, after the Travel Almanac. Little magazines offer the same sort of travel information that fits with my trip schedules, I’m not an average traveler. Or, like Paul Theroux says: “Tourists don’t know where they’ve been, travelers don’t know where they’re going.”

Watch the movie about the Endless magazine and I guess you’ll be just as excited as I am!

Cozy

New citizenM magazine

Although we are all looking forward to spring, the (at least Dutch) weather forces us to cuddle up inside on the couch. Luckily there is the Cozy Issue, the latest citizenM magazine about how to feel comfortable when you’re on the go and how to stay cozy far away from home.

Curating the coolness

This is the last citizenM magazine presented in this way. The next issue will be in a complete different style, but I keep curating the content and I will do the interviews and the ‘bigger’ stories myself. Curating the magazine is one of the coolest jobs I’ve ever done. Meeting inspiring people, hearing their motivating stories and connecting them with all the other mobile citizens living the same lifestyle. I hope you’ll enjoy the Cozy Issue just as much as the Social Issue and the Tasty Issue. Enjoy reading!

Urbanite

I’m an Urbanite

I’m not a foreigner, not a traveler, not a tourist, not a working nomad but an Urbanite.
Although I love nature, I need the energy from a city. Urban life gives me inspiration and the feeling I’m a part of the city life. Nothing beats the vibes from a lively city!

Live the language

Understanding the language increases local experience

After seeing this movie, I couldn’t help but agreeing it’s more fun to be somewhere if you speak the language. Easy for me to say, as I speak English, German, French and a little Spanish. I experience the fun of Paris if I can make a chat with the taxi driver and I love to order my macarons in French, as the tastes and colors sound so much more tasty. If you ‘live the language’ and you’re able to interact with the locals, your experience becomes so much more lively.

Watch and see the movie, enjoy my favorite city (Paris) and my second home town Barcelona. And please let me know if you feel the same…

Norte – perfect breakfast in Barcelona

Norte Restaurante Barcelona

Norte is one of my favorite restaurants in Barcelona, for breakfast in specific. Although in Spain breakfast is not like I’m used to in Holland; just crab a quick coffee and croissant and actually take your time to eat around eleven (almuerzo), I can’t start my day without a good breakfast. I take my time to drink a cup of tea, fresh orange juice and eat my sandwiches, preferably outside. Lucky me, in Barcelona that’s possible most of the year.
This summer I’ve discovered my favorite breakfast spot; Norte. Open since May 2011, and since I’ve discovered it this summer, it’s always busy!

Tasty blessings

Norte services typical Spanish dishes, based on family history and fresh (organic/biologic) ingredients. I’m a big fan of the watermelon juice, the salmon sandwich and the fresh cakes. Tasty, mostly healthy blessings. Norte isn’t only a place where they serve food made with love, they serve it with love as well and the place looks amazing. All white (it’s in my name, I love white ;) ), fresh and still cozy. Most of the times I sit on the terrace outside during breakfast, and after I go inside or sit at the bar outside to read articles on my iPad (there’s free wifi) or read a Spanish magazine. I highly recommend the lunch as well, tried it once and the ‘menu del dia’ was great! Norte also serves dinner, but I haven’t tried it yet.

You can find Norte at:
diputació 321 (cantonada bruc)

Bucketlist

On my Dutch blog I’ve tried to make a bucketlist with all the travel wishes I have for 2012. While I wrote it, more and more destinations came up. There are so many places to go, so much new cities to discover! But besides the new places, all the upcoming trips (except for London) are places I’ve already been. I don’t mind going back if I had a good time. Barcelona is my second home, Paris my biggest love and Altea is home away from home. This week I’m going to Andorra, for the second time.

Vakantiebeurs

Last week I was at the Dutch Vakantiebeurs, a conference you can compare with ITB in Berlin and WTM in London. Unfortunately I got sick during the Dutch Tourism Expo, the 2 days for travel managers. The Vakantiebeurs is mainly focused on consumers. Destinations present themselves, showing their USP’s and try to convince you why you should go on holidays or travel around their country. My bucketlist changed a little after visiting some of these stands. For example my wish for Tokio – I can do that in 2013 right? I’d rather go to Hong Kong this year. Hip, trendy and still a little undiscovered by common tourists. And Norway is probably very nice, but also focused on active outdoor people. My physical condition isn’t capable of walking for hours and sleeping in a tent isn’t adventurous for me. I think a roundtrip in Canada would fit me better. Sleeping in cottages, driving to local highlights, easy walking, taking breathtaking pictures. A little reindeer sledding, bear spotting, wolf howling, forest expeditions and lake experiences. I also think Oman/Dubai is interesting for a luxury lifestyle experience and I wouldn’t mind going to Lille for some vintage and antique shopping as well.

What is your bucketlist when it comes to travel?

Christmas Wish

Owly christmas card

I couldn’t find a more suitable ‘sabinedewitte’ christmas card! Bought at the Dutch warehouse HEMA, it looks like they gave my sabinedewitte logo a christmas make-over! Quite a coincidence!

SabineDeWitte wishes you…

Have a lovely, merry Christmas, enjoy the last days of 2011, enjoy the flashbacks and dare to look forward. This year was a pretty good one for me. Instead of specializing or focusing, I decided to spread my wings even more. I’m curious, I love to discover new things, and if I could make a living out of that, that would be a dream come true. Maybe, in 2012. For now, I’m happy with all the things I do and get to discover in my daily life. Looking forward to spent Christmas with my beloved ones, enjoy!

Curating cool – interview

Interview in New York

On the last day of my stay in New York City (more to come about that!), I finally met with Josiah MacKenzie. We missed out on each other in Barcelona and Amsterdam, but there we were finally able to meet. In the lobby of the buzzing ACE hotel Josiah interviewed me and my business partner Patrick Mulder. Mostly about how to create cool content, citizenM magazine and our lifestyles. It was great to notice that people don’t judge you for travelling a lot, like they do in Amsterdam.

Feel free to read and enjoy the interview and leave your feedback! http://bit.ly/ttXuHv
